NAMASTE SIGN

Comes from the Sanskrit “NAM” and means” “I bow to you”. It is a gesture to greet and show respect. The hands are pushed together, the palms touch each other, the fingers point upwards and are bent towards the head. This often involves a slight bend.

NAMASTE NEPAL – Our logo and its meaning

The logo emphasizes the fine and intense cooperation between the inhabitants of Wijchmaal/Peer in Belgium and the Nepalese population. In the center we see a circle (globe) with the “Namaste” sign. We see the flags of the city of Peer and the Nepalese flag.

The four arrows circling everything symbolize
‘Friendship’, ‘voluntary’, ‘fraternization’
And ‘connectedness’.

Our relief efforts are small-scale, but still efficient. Our concerns are mainly focused on education and partly on support for the disabled. With regard to the latter group, we try to support the Nepalese association V.S.N. (Volunteer Society Nepal) in Kathmandu.
